Vegas Marriage CertificateGetting Married in Las Vegas

Las Vegas might have a bit of a reputation for accommodating spontaneous vow exchanges, but the at-hand resources almost make impulsive weddings hard to resist.

Get married by an Elvis impersonator, under a palm tree, at a golf course, lavish hotel or at one of the city’s dozens of wedding chapels. From the city’s Marriage License Bureau, a marriage license only costs about around $30; however, some venues will take care of the legal issues for you for a small portion more.

The Marriage License Bureau is open from 8 a.m. until midnight during the week and 24 hours over the weekend and on holidays. Most freestanding chapels are opened 24 hours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

If you decide to get married while visiting Las Vegas without any prior planning, you won’t have a problem. In fact, most places only require the bride and groom be at least 18 years old or 16 with a parent. And it’s not uncommon for couples to recite their vows in front to “Elvis.”

Many of the city’s big hotels can throw quite a party, too, if you have some time to plan. Many of which can also accommodate a last-minute affair, depending on what you had in mind. We’ve also found that several golf courses and resorts in Las Vegas can host a 300-person ceremony and reception.

Here are just a few lavish venues known around town for helping couples plan a stylish wedding:

Most couples will find that getting married on a whim in Las Vegas will cost right around $200. But if you have some time to plan and some money to spend, the luxury hotels and casinos that line The Strip will most likely have every accommodation necessary.

When you’re planning something a little larger than Las Vegas’ notorious last-minute weddings, don’t forget to factor in costs for an officiate, flowers, music, cake, jewelry, a dress and tuxedo. Almost every chapel in the city can help you get exactly what you have in mind within minutes.
